Meet the Team

“Teamwork is the secret that makes common people achieve uncommon results.”

- Ifeanyi Enoch Onuoha

Chris

Born and raised in West Virginia, Chris has been skiing his whole life starting on the icy slopes of Snowshoe Resort. Chris has also been a professional free skier in slope style and half pipe competition, a professional race car driver, a biomedical materials tech.

For over 10 years he has been designing, manufacturing, and testing skis for other various ski manufacturers. Tired of the poor quality of and high price tag of most mass produced skis on the market Chris is adamant in creating the most fun and versatile freeride skis ever made by human hands.

Putting them into yours hands factory direct, cutting out the middle man, and the outrageous price of low quality skis athletes and real rippers can only get a few winters on (at most). Come join us in riding the most fun skis we’ve ever tried.

Sam

Born and raised in Lexington, KY. Sam grew up skiing the icy hills of Perfect North Indiana, hooked after a week in Winter Park at age 6. 16 years later he brought himself and some graphic design knowledge to Denver.

Skiing, climbing, hiking, canyoneering, rafting, biking, highlining. If there is an outdoor sport Sam is into it, and if he’s not, he would assure you that he would be if he had the money to fund it.

With a sharp eye for detail Sam is responsible for all of the web content, graphics, and artwork on our beautiful skis. With Chris’s guidance Sam has been fully trained in the laborious art that is ski manufacturing. Cutting, sanding, pressing, tuning, finishing, and polishing our final product.

FAQs

Where are your skis made?

We proudly manufacture the majority of our skis in our own factory located in Denver, CO. This allows us to oversee the entire production process from start to finish, ensuring each ski meets our high standards and is rigorously tested in the Rocky Mountains. As we’ve grown, we’ve partnered with overseas manufacturers to expand our model selection and provide more affordable options for skiers who may not be seeking competition-level gear, all while enhancing our inventory and model variety.

What makes your skis so durable?

Our skis are renowned for their durability due to several key factors:

  • Thickest Edge and Base Material: We use edge and base materials that are nearly double the standard thickness found in the industry, providing superior resistance to damage and wear.

  • In-House Wood Cores: All our wood cores are crafted in-house from full stringer sintered cores made from hand-selected FSC certified lumber.

  • Proven Technologies: We incorporate tried and tested technologies, while also exploring innovations like graphene blended epoxy in our Pow Ski, to enhance performance and longevity.

WHY ARE SKIS SO EXPENSIVE?

High-quality skis come with a higher price tag due to several factors:

  1. Premium Materials: The construction of quality skis involves high-grade materials such as advanced composites, durable edges, and robust bases. These materials are chosen for their performance and longevity, which contribute to the overall cost.

  2. Labor and Craftsmanship: The manufacturing process requires skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. From shaping and assembling the skis to rigorous quality control, skilled labor plays a significant role in ensuring that each pair meets high standards.

  3. Innovation and Technology: Incorporating cutting-edge technologies and innovations, such as advanced core materials or graphene-enhanced composites, also adds to the cost. These technologies are designed to enhance performance and durability but require additional investment in research and development.

At Adamant Skis, we aim to offer reasonable and affordable pricing by selling directly to consumers. Unlike most ski companies that pass along additional costs through retailers, our direct-to-consumer model helps us keep prices competitive. We provide high-quality skis made in Colorado at a fair price and also offer competitively priced options for skis produced overseas. This approach allows us to deliver value and quality while maintaining affordability.
